Working at the Durham Catholic District School Board

Policies and Procedures

All new staff must confirm review of all mandatory policies and procedures. Additional training or policy review may be required for specific employee groups. Annual review of mandatory policies and procedures will be required.

Mandatory Training Modules

As a new employee, a series of mandatory training modules must be completed prior to commencement of employment. The modules are as follows:

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act: (Customer Service), 1, 2 , 3
  • Employee Awareness Training (4 steps)
  • Supervisor Awareness Training (5 steps)

Awards and Recognition

Our Board offers the following awards and recognition.

Distinguished Catholic Educator Award

An annual celebration takes place to honour recipients who are nominated and awarded in recognition of their commitment to Catholic education. One recipient per school and department is selected,

Board Award of Merit

A formal nomination is submitted for consideration by Senior Administration to recognize excellence by Durham Catholic District School Board employees.

25 Years of Service

Employees who have dedicated 25 years of service to Catholic education receive a brass school bell in recognition for their years of service to the Board and to Catholic education.
